What are the NB Foundation Mini-Grant Goals?
- Encourage, enhance and expand educational initiatives in the school district and community
- Promote cultural initiatives to expand appreciation of the arts, increase creativity and problem solving through educational innovation
- Support the enrichment of classroom practices necessary to enhance the learning experience of the district's students
- Sponsor educational initiatives that foster collegial collaboration and engage families and community members
How will grants be evaluated?
- Scope and reach of the initiative.
- Objectives and expected results of initiative
- Detailed budget of initiative
- Initiative success measurements
The board of directors of the North Branford Education Foundation will select and review each submitted grant application and score each proposed initiative on the above criteria. The North Branford Education Foundation Board will have the sole discretion on which grants will be funded.
What grant amounts will the North Branford Education Foundation consider funding?
The Education Foundation will support mini-grant budget requests within the range of $250 - $2,000.
What types of initiatives is the North Branford Education Foundation interested in?
- Initiatives that capture the interest of students or community members
- Initiatives that strengthen academics and engage students in a problem-solving approach to learning or higher level thinking
- Initiatives that help children who may have difficulty with academics
- Activities that promote creative expression, exposure to the arts and promote appreciation of the arts
- Initiatives that bridge the knowledge and educational experiences of community members and the school district
Will grants be awarded to purchase supplies - under what circumstances?
- It is unlikely that the North Branford Education Foundation will fund requests solely for supplies.
- Proposals that request funds for supplies must demonstrate the need for such supplies in order to implement the proposed initiative
- Proposals that request funds for supplies must demonstrate other funding sources which have been identified/contacted to assist with supply purchase.
